Install RapidIdentity Mac Client

Follow these steps to install the RapidIdentity Mac Client.

  1. Download and open the RapidIdentity Mac Client install file.

  2. Double-click the RapidIdentity Install ribbon icon.

  3. Depending on the security settings of the Mac device it may be necessary to confirm opening the install disk image along with entering your username and password. If necessary, click Open and then enter the User Name and Password.

  4. Click Next and then Agree to accept the License Agreement.

  5. Choose to install the Client in Standalone or Server mode and click Next.

    • To install in Server mode, be sure to have the RapidIdentity MFA Server URL ready, which will be prompted on the following screen.

  6. Click Install and allow the process to complete and then choose whether to restart the computer now or later. Click Finish.

  7. Authenticate to the Apple device and click a tile to continue the authentication process.


    From left to right, first row to second row, the authentication method tiles are as follows: Username and password; OTP; PingMe; Challenge Questions; FIDO; Bluetooth.

    FileVault Notes

    RapidIdentity Mac Client cannot bypass FileVault requirements to authenticate. On machines in which FileVault is enabled, users must enter their local username and password first. After authentication, the RapidIdentity Mac Client Select Auth Method screen displays and prompts users to authenticate with their enrolled RapidIdentity Mac Client Methods.

    Users must select the top left authentication method icon to enter their username and password again after installing RapidIdentity Mac Client.

    After completing enrollment, users can authenticate with the methods they enroll below.

  8. After authenticating, the red Identity Automation ribbon logo appears in the menu bar.
